Deacon Ministry
Bro. John Calvin White
BELOVED DEACON ERMERITUS ~ 1/4/1932 - 7/26/2016
Terry Tanner, Chairman of Deacons
I married my high school sweetheart, Ann 48 years ago. We have four children and nine grandchildren. I served in the USMC for three years. I love serving the Lord in my church and helping people in need. I love to fish and hunt but I will not allow my hobbies to take preference over serving God or my church. I get up early to be alone, read and study God's Word and pray for His guidance.

Of all the churches in which I have served, I love my Snow Road First Baptist Church family and truly appreciate my Pastor, fellow Deacons and their humble spirit.

I have been married to my wonderful wife, Donna for 37 years. God has blessed me abundantly with a wonderful son and daughter in law and the absolute joy of our lives, our precious grandson, Reed Joseph. We love spending time with him as often as we can. I love serving in my church in many different areas. I am a truly blessed man.

My favorite chapter in all the Bible is Psalm 23. While in Vietnam, I memorized Psalm 23 and repeated it often. It helped me to make it through a very difficult time of life. I have been married to my wife, Evelyn for 44 years. After 33 years I retired from Scott Paper Company. We have three children and five grandchildren. My favorite hobby is fishing.

I served in the USAF and was honorably discharged in 1972. I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 1972 while attending Chickasaw First Baptist Church. I met my wife, the former Linda Jenkins in 1974 and we were married in Humble, TX in January, 1979. We have two sons and one daughter; Kristopher 35, Shannon 34 and Nicholas 33. We have two grandchildren, Maci and Wyatt. I have been employed with Momar, Inc, a chemical manufacturer based in Atlanta since 1984 and serve as one of the Vice Presidents. In my spare time I enjoy swimming, going to the shooting range, watching sports and most of all being involved with my grandchildren. My greatest joy is supporting and helping them be the best they can be in whatever endeavor they attempt. I am a huge Alabama fan and attend every game I can. When I can't be at a game, you'll hear the loudest ROLL TIDE coming from my home in Semmes!
